Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has criticised the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for its failure to act against Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz, as he faces the NAB in connection to the Al-Qadir Trust case. Khan claimed that the accountability watchdog’s probe was not credible and questioned why no action had been taken against Riaz. Khan also blamed his former accountability aide Shahzad Akbar for making a secret deal with Riaz, and stated he was not aware of any other deed of confidentiality that may have been signed by Akbar. In addition, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) extended the pre-arrest bail of Khan in eight cases registered against him for violence during his appearance in the judicial complex. Accountability judge Mohammad Bashir granted pre-arrest interim bail to Khan in the Al Qadir Trust case until May 31. Bushra Bibi, Khan’s spouse, also sought bail in the case.
