During his visit to Police Lines in Islamabad, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir stated that those who harmed the dignity of martyrs and desecrated their memorials will not be forgiven or forgotten by the nation. He further indicated that what happened on 9th May is very regrettable and condemnable. The army, police, and law enforcement agencies represent Pakistan’s defense line and identity, and do not hesitate to sacrifice for the dignity of the country and its people. COAS also conveyed that on ‘Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan’, the people of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army will stand and continue standing with the families of the martyrs of all law enforcement agencies. The nation is observing this day to pay tribute to those martyrs who protected the country and its people. Various events featuring prayers and Quran khwani are happening throughout the country to honour the spirit and dedication of the martyrs. Many commemorative ceremonies are being held at the memorials of the martyrs to pay homage to them.
