Polling is underway for the remaining 63 local body seats in five divisions of Sindh, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, and Shaheed Benazirabad. In Karachi, polling is taking place for 26 local government seats in 11 union committees, with candidates from different political parties contesting the polls on 26 local government seats. Elections were held in 235 UCs on January 15, and the delayed voting is taking place for the remaining 11 constituencies due to the deaths of candidates over the past few months. In other parts of Sindh, 19 districts of four divisions will witness the local government elections on 37 different seats, where a large number of candidates will contest polls from different political platforms. A total of 690,295 registered voters will participate in the by-elections, with 449 polling stations across the province, including 292 highly sensitive polling stations equipped with CCTV cameras for security reasons. The polling process started at 8 am and will continue till 5 pm without any break.
