Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned the police team’s actions when trying to arrest former chief minister Parvez Elahi, which ended up with Muslim League Quaid President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain’s house being stormed and Ch Salik Hussain being injured. Naqvi took to Twitter to announce that he was appalled to hear of the events and that no illegal action would be permitted. He also stated that the law should take its course. The Punjab police booked Parvez Elahi on various charges, including terrorism, after attempting to arrest him at his home late on Friday night, according to reports. Law enforcement officials were attacked during the raid, and an FIR has been lodged with the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 and several other sections, including attempted murder and assault. Parvez Elahi’s employees blocked the house from the inside, and a vast number of people inside threatened the team when it arrived at his home before pelting them with stones and petrol.
