Pakistan has issued visas to around 3,000 Indians, mostly Sikhs, to attend the Baisakhi festival in 2023. The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) expects over 2,500 Sikh pilgrims from India to arrive on Sunday. Authorities also expect nearly 2,000 Sikh pilgrims from other countries, such as the UK and Canada, and over 5,000 from within Pakistan. The 10-day Baisakhi festival will begin at Nankana Saheb, with the main ceremony taking place on April 14 at Gurdwara Panja Saheb. Pilgrims will enter Pakistan via the Wagah-Attari land route on foot and travel to various gurdwaras (Sikh temples) throughout the country. They will return to India via Wagah on April 18.
