Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the launch of the government’s first dedicated mental health app and helpline called #Humraaz. The announcement was made on World Health Day, which also marks the 75th anniversary of the World Health Organisation (WHO). The app aims to improve the mental health and quality of life for people in need by providing consultation services and access to psychiatrists and psychologists. Users can dial 1166 for the helpline and share their issues confidentially. The app also allows users to make appointments and seek help in case of suicidal thoughts or mental health emergencies. The initiative is supported by the WHO and the Ministry of Health, and aims to normalize conversations about mental health and reduce stigma.
