Hulu has rolled out a redesign of its TV apps that changes the interface navigation by moving the search, TV, movies, news, my stuff, and hubs buttons to the left. Previously, some users had been frustrated by a top-bar design that made it seem content had to be scrolled through all over again, and switching categories was difficult. Pressing the back button would jump users up to the top, but many did not realise this. Now, like rivals HBO Max, Netflix, YouTube and Disney Plus (which is owned by the same firm as Hulu) the sidebar design is expected to simplify navigation. The redesign will be rolled out gradually across several weeks on devices including Android TV, LG smart TVs, Samsung smart TVs, SmartCast TVs as well as streaming boxes including Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV and Roku.
