Punjab Police has conducted another raid on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s residence in Lahore. The police had been waiting for a search warrant to enter the premises of his Zaman Park house, according to IG Punjab Usman Anwar. The authorities claimed that earlier attempts to enter had been hampered by a court order and Pakistan Super League matches. After making the entry, the police reported the discovery of petrol bombs and weapons during the operation. During a previous raid, officers had registered FIRs against the “miscreants” who allegedly attacked police with petrol bombs and bricks, while also damaging vehicles. The police confirmed that they had arrested some suspects. The current raid is believed to be a further attempt to arrest Imran Khan in relation to Toshakhana case. Recent operations have led to violent clashes between police and PTI supporters.
