Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi has called on politicians to come together and help steer the country out of “current misery” following the arrest warrant’s issuance against former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Alvi took to Twitter to express that “another day in the life of Pakistan has passed without catastrophe” and urged politicians to work together to end their country’s misery. The comments came after Khan moved the Islamabad High Court to fight off a possible arrest during a hearing of the Toshakhana case; the hearing was eventually adjourned until 30 March. PTI workers and police clashed outside the judicial complex where the hearing was due to take place, with intense clashes breaking out before Khan’s convoy arrived at the complex. The former Prime Minister returned home to Lahore after attending without stepping out of his bulletproof car. Prior to this, a Pakistan court had cancelled the arrest warrant against Khan for the Toshakhana case.
