Khan: Imran Khan to appear before LHC ahead of graft case hearing in Islamabad court – Times of India

Imran Khan, the ousted Pakistani prime minister and head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has agreed to appear in court in Lahore to provide assurance he will present himself the following day before the judge in a corruption case against him. The 70-year-old politician has been resisting arrest in the Toshakhana case and has been holed up inside his Zaman Park residence amid clashes between his supporters and law enforcement agencies. Khan has been in trouble for buying discounted gifts from the state depository called Toshakhana, including an expensive Graff wristwatch he received as premier and then selling the items for profit. PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry announced the development, adding that an agreement between the two parties will be presented in court. On Monday, non-bailable arrest warrants were issued for Khan after he skipped several hearings in the Toshakhana case. Khan was ousted from power in April last year following a no-confidence vote, which he claimed was part of a US-led conspiracy targeting him because of his independent foreign policy decisions on Russia, China and Afghanistan.
