Aamir Khan is no longer brand ambassador for Incredible India — and he's okay with it

Aamir Khan is a busy man, but it seems like he now has one less thing on his plate: the actor is no longer the brand ambassador of the Indian government's vast campaign called Incredible India.

When word of this got out there was speculation about whether this was merely due to Aamir's contract with the Tourism Ministry coming to an end or his remarks about 'rising intolerance' prevailing in India. His remarks had landed him in hot water; even Anupam Kher took to Twitter to call out the actor on his supposedly "anti-India" comments.

However, the tourism ministry quickly clarified its stance. “Our contract was with McCann Worldwide. It was the agency which had hired him [Aamir Khan]. Since the contract with the agency is no more, automatically the arrangement with the actor no longer exists,” Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma said.

Issuing a statement, Aamir Khan welcomed the government’s decision.

“It has been an honour and a pleasure for me to be the Brand Ambassador for the Incredible India campaign for the past 10 years," stated Khan. "I was happy to be of service to my country and will always be available for it. I would like to clarify that all public service films I have done till date have all been free of any cost to me."

    Obviously.

    He does not like India.

    He's thinking of leaving India.

    He does not represent India.

    About time.

He's a patriot and a father as well. He doesn't want to leave India because he doesn't like it but to secure future of his family.
The way he's been criticized and rediculed by India proved that he was right about rising intolerance in India.

Khan did good job with the Incredible India brand--Lets hope that govt gets a new popular face!

Aamir khan is relative of the Indian congress leader: Mauala Azad.
Azad had an impeccable track record since he joined freedom struggle during Indian national congress. Congress pre 1947 and post 1947 is totally different.

Current Congress is hollow and dynastic cult of Nehru family!

Amir Khan is a closet Islamist.

And Islamists, overt or closeted, do not represent a proud civilization and culture of 10000 years.

It's like bringing a turbaned mulla to talk about the glory of Iran.

    What a joke mullas are.

And most of us use mullas very generically. Nothing whatsoever to do with turbaned beardo clerics only.

He and Kiran should move to tolerant Islamic countries.

India is not the place for them.

    Because they want to.

Because they are feeling unsafe in this intolerant environment.

Do you want them to live in fear? Why?

There was a country made for such folk.

    It's called Pakistan.

    Cheers, Doc
